Overwater Bungalow Resorts

What could be more romantic than an overwater bungalow for your honeymoon? Well, some would argue, snuggling up in front of a roaring fireplace in a cabin or ski chalet would be more romantic. But, for many couples, pairing your honeymoon with water is tops on the romance scale.

As you might expect, however, overwater bungalow resorts don't come cheap. Many are priced at $600 to $1200 per night. But, don't despair; there are cheaper options out there for couples wanting an over-water bungalow honeymoon resort experience. In the Aug. 8, 2010 Washington Post there was an article about cheaper options. One option, they say, is to rethink the whole over-water bungalow thing and go with a nice ocean-front venue. But, if you really want that overwater bungalow honeymoon experience, they have two cheaper alternatives:

  • Club Bali Hai (clubbalihai.com) on the island of Moorea. As of August 2010 (when I last checked) their website listed numerous seasonal packages just over $300 per night. So, you may want to check them out.
  • Go with a high-volume travel agent who offers packages which include overwater bungalows. These travel agents include pleasantholidays.com and airtahitinui-usa.com. There you'll find packages with airfare included.
